Zach Wilson Trade

So, the Zach Wilson trade is finally done. And it's a bit of a head-scratcher. I mean, I get it, the Jets haven't been good for a while. And Wilson hasn't exactly been lighting it up. But still, he's only 23 years old. He's got a lot of potential. And the Jets gave him up for next to nothing.
I'm not saying that Wilson is going to be the next Tom Brady. But he's shown flashes of brilliance. He's got a strong arm, and he can make some amazing plays. I just don't think the Jets gave him a fair shot.
They benched him after a few bad games. And then they traded him away like he was nothing. I don't know, maybe I'm just old-fashioned. But I believe in giving young players a chance to succeed. And I think the Jets made a big mistake by giving up on Zach Wilson.
Here are a few reasons why I think the Jets made a mistake:
  • Wilson is still young.
  • He's shown flashes of brilliance.
  • The Jets didn't give him a fair shot.
I know, some people are going to say that the Jets needed to make a change. That they needed to get a more experienced quarterback. But I don't think that's true. I think the Jets could have been patient with Wilson. I think he could have developed into a franchise quarterback.
But now that Wilson is gone, the Jets are back to square one. They don't have a franchise quarterback. And they don't have a clear direction.
I'm not sure what the future holds for the Jets. But I do know that they made a mistake by trading Zach Wilson.
P.S. I'm not a Jets fan. I'm just a fan of good football. And I think the Jets made a big mistake.
