What Happened When Darrien Meliciano Met a Unicorn?

Darrien Meliciano was a curious and adventurous boy who loved to explore the woods behind his house. One day, while wandering through the trees, he saw something that made him stop in his tracks. It was a unicorn, just like the ones he had read about in fairy tales.

The unicorn was even more beautiful than Darrien had imagined. It had a long, flowing mane and tail, and its coat was as white as snow. It stood there in the middle of the clearing, looking at Darrien with its big, gentle eyes.

Darrien was so excited that he could barely speak. He took a step towards the unicorn, and it didn't run away. Instead, it lowered its head and nuzzled Darrien's hand.

Darrien and the unicorn spent the rest of the day playing together. They ran through the woods, climbed trees, and even flew through the air (well, the unicorn flew, and Darrien held on tight!).

As the sun began to set, the unicorn led Darrien to a small stream. It knelt down and drank from the water, and then it offered Darrien some. The water was the coolest, most refreshing water Darrien had ever tasted.

Darrien knew that he had to say goodbye to his new friend. He hugged the unicorn tightly and told it how much he would miss it.

The next day, Darrien went back to the woods to see if the unicorn was still there. But it was gone. Darrien was sad, but he knew that he would never forget his magical day with the unicorn.
