If you are in pain, take ibuprofen or another over-the-counter pain reliever. You can also put ice on your cheek to help with the pain.

If you have a tooth that has been knocked out, try to find the tooth. Rinse it off with water and put it back in the socket if you can. If you can't put it back in, put it in a cup of milk. Then call your dentist right away.

If you have a cut on your lip or tongue, rinse the area with warm water and put a cold, wet cloth on it. Call your dentist if the bleeding doesn't stop.
