The Otto Wenz Café Hollander Downer Classic bike race is back on as a feature of the Tour of America's Dairyland arrangement, however it will not be hung on its standard Saturday.

The Downer Avenue Business Improvement District dropped the race in March when future COVID limitations in Milwaukee were muddled, the BID said in a news discharge.

However, as limitations have facilitated, remembering the lifting of all limitations for June 1, coordinators started chipping away at taking the race back toward the East Side.

The race brings beginner and expert street cyclists together for an entire day of races, in addition to a children race and a lager celebration. Races start off at 11:05 a.M. June 24 and will follow a course along North Downer Avenue, East Bradford Street, North Lake Drive and East Park Place.

The race customarily has been hung on the last Saturday of the 11-day ToAD arrangement. The current year's Saturday race will be held in Wauwatosa's Washington Highlands neighborhood on June 26. Race and ToAD coordinators have said the Downer Classic will be back on its standard Saturday in the arrangement in 2022.
