A jetskier is missing in Cook Strait after failing to return home on Sunday evening.
The 48-year-old man left Titahi Bay in Porirua about 5pm on Sunday and was expected to return by 7pm.
When he failed to return, his family contacted police.
Police, the Coastguard and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter have been searching for the man since 8am on Monday.
The search has been hampered by strong winds and large swells.
The man's family is distraught and are hoping he will be found safe and well.
The search is continuing.
Update: The missing jetskier has been found safe and well. He was located by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter at 2pm on Monday.
