A day doing what I love the most - talking and engaging with technology in teaching and learning.

It is with great thanks that I was invited by Anne to attend the Web2.0 workshop at VC Sandton today, Wednesday. Although the day had it's frustrations with Bandwidth and connection issues, it was a period of time to engage with web tools that can be used in the teaching & learnign space. For me, this is what I believe is the future of education - connectivism. I don't have to be convinced.

My conerns are the challenges ahead  with regards to the understanding and acceptance of management to the importance of using technology in this area and setting up the resources and infrastructure to allow this.

The next concern, is the teaching of  teachers to empower them to integrate this technology in thier practice.

It was enlightening to see how many of the participants engaged with the tools and ideas that Anne presented today, and how excited they became from Google Docs. As Anne said, if everyone walks away with just one tool or idea that they take forward and use in their practice, the workshop would be a success. I think the workshop was a great success, and thank you Anne for all the effort in putting this together.

A great day of sharing
