 Then Me (FolkToe) again:

First of all let’s get the ‘blame it on the celebrity’ notion out of the way because I’m not talking about Jared Leto the celebrity, but Jared Leto the capitalist.

It was his talent and branding that made him into a Celebrity. But it was creative idea that made him a target to my question.

Don’t get me wrong there is several benefits to Jared’s idea, such as, it will help out those housebound who can’t get out to see the concert or those who want to avoid bad traffic jams.

However, there are downfalls, such as those who don’t have fast internet to participate in the online shows and those can’t even can afford even the $10 dollars to view the show. There is no ‘charity donations’ credits to account for all who wish to join.

Does VyRT affect how music will be viewed ~ you betcha. But attending a packed concert hall, singing along (even off key) with thousands of other fans it a feeling that no person can describe. Even if you are surrounded with people who dress up funny, puking at the bottom rows, beating the crap out of each other in the mosh pit (when available) and doing nasty (possible illegal) stuff in the bathrooms. It’s the unity that your not just a number on a screen counter and your not alone because you can visible view that as your surrounded with fellow fans.

In regards with the difference with watching TV and not getting the visit the world? Well, I can always set my VCR (yes, still have one of those), go out and watch the show later and for FREE.

Question: Have you ever been surrounded by Friends and they mention ’Did you see that episode last night of _______’ and you didn’t because you can afford those extra channels?

Or your in the Mars FAMILY and others are Tweeting and Facebooking about how awesome the VyRT show was and your left out of the loop because you didn’t attend? So now your really into 30STM, but you don’t know anything about the new album, any jokes Jared might have made or even if Shannon and Tomo showed up to fart on camera.

You become out of the circle of the Family and you must rely on people who are sharing their videos on various websites before the Hive yanks them down or copies of Tweets retelling parts of what was discussed. How FAMILY is that?

For example: Mars 300th show. Why couldn’t the record company pay for a FREE airing to such a significant moment? It’s their clients that brought in such positively and money sales that their representation couldn’t chip in for the show to give the ultimate ‘Thank You‘ gift for “The Family“ that have been supporting 30 Seconds to Mars all this time?

It makes the outsiders angry ~ of course. You attend the shows, purchase the merchandise, Tweet and Facebook the guys and read everything in the news, blogs and Tumblr’s, yet when your excluded from a paying gig because of substances financial or working hours then it seems like your 2nd class fan.

Do I have a fast enough connection?  Yes.  Can I afford a VyRT show? Yes.  Have I paid to see a VyRT show? No. Have a seen any VyRT show? Yes.

Summary: It’s Jared’s right to do what he wants too and charge as there are others who are willing to pay for the hour or so show. It’s call supply and demand.

It was just asked down the road with fans wanting to watch their favorite Artists online without moving from the couch/chairs doesn’t he think that might affect people on staying healthy.

Frankly, I don’t think anything beyond $$$ concerns him. And yes people have to make up their own minds to run their lives, but if you put a cheeseburger in front of a starving person wouldn’t they want to bite?

Having the ability to “speak” or “chat” with a Celebrity or someone whose talent has taken them to success who would pass up the rare opportunity?

Personally I think Jared might want to scoop up the actors/actresses and those in the Art world and have them join in the VyRT experience to be one-on-one with a greater audience. #Idea
