Egypt tourist boat sinks Red Sea

A tourist boat carrying 44 people has sunk in the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt, leaving 16 people missing.

The boat, called the Sea Story, sank on Monday south of the coastal town of Marsa Alam. Twenty-eight people have been rescued with minor injuries, but none have been hospitalized.

The search for the missing people has been paused due to bad weather conditions.

The Egyptian authorities are investigating the cause of the sinking, but it is believed that the boat may have been caught in a sudden storm.

This is the second tourist boat to sink in the Red Sea in recent months. In June, a boat carrying 24 French tourists sank near the Deadalus reef. All of the tourists were safely evacuated.

The Red Sea is a popular tourist destination, but it can be dangerous to travel in during the winter months when the weather is more unpredictable.

If you are planning to travel to the Red Sea, it is important to check the weather forecast before you go and to take precautions against sudden storms.
