Concrete Driveway

Are you planning to build a new concrete driveway, If yes, then take some time to read this very useful article and some important tips that I am sharing here:

  1. Hire A Concrete Professional: The very first and the most important thing to do, when you want to build a concrete driveway is to hire a professional and experienced concreter. Do not make the mistake of hiring someone inexperienced because they are cheaper. The mistakes from their inexperience can cost you a lot of money. Concrete requires a specialist to bring out its true potential. There is a specific mixing ratio to prepare concrete and a specific routine to apply it. If the inexperienced person is not aware of it or they do not mix or apply it correctly your entire project can fail.

  2. Have A Pathway For Water: This next tip, is probably one of the most important things to keep in mind outside of mixing the right ratio. When building a concrete driveway you want to be absolutely sure that you leave no room for standing water. Standing water is the #1 enemy of your concrete driveway and it will destroy it. So when you build a concrete driveway be sure to build a water pathway so the water will never sit on your concrete structure and will simply drain away. Either add a drain or a slope so water runs off right away.

  3. Should Pass Stress Test: The last thing that you really want to pay attention to and be absolutely sure of is that your concrete driveway can pass the stress test. Your driveway needs to be strong enough to face sun, heat, rain, water, and other harsh weather conditions. There are specific measurements and tests that your concrete company will run to make sure this has been achieved. So before you mark your project complete be 100% sure that your concrete driveway has passed all the stress tests else have the contractor fix it.
