Arne Slot




Arne Slot is a Dutch professional football coach and former player who is the current head coach of Feyenoord. Slot was born in Zwolle, Netherlands, on 17 October 1978.

Playing career

Slot began his playing career with local club Zwolle. He made his professional debut for the club in 1995 and spent six seasons with the club, making over 100 appearances. In 2001, Slot moved to NAC Breda, where he spent two seasons before joining RKC Waalwijk in 2003. Slot spent four seasons with RKC Waalwijk, making over 100 appearances for the club. In 2007, Slot moved to AZ Alkmaar, where he spent four seasons before joining FC Twente in 2011. Slot spent one season with FC Twente before retiring from playing in 2012.

Coaching career

Slot began his coaching career with PEC Zwolle in 2014. He spent two seasons with the club, leading them to promotion to the Eredivisie in 2015. In 2016, Slot was appointed head coach of AZ Alkmaar. He spent three seasons with the club, leading them to the KNVB Cup in 2018 and the Eredivisie title in 2019. In 2019, Slot was appointed head coach of Feyenoord. He led the club to the UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2022 and the KNVB Cup in 2022.

Personal life

Slot is married and has two children. He is a fan of FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
