Since the Turks brought coffee to Europe, drinking coffee has become a culture worldwide. In every country you visit you find a variety of coffeehouses and coffee brands alike. Coffee is now the most drunk beverage on earth, more than Coca Cola. There is no other drink that people favor over coffee.

The video below pys hommage to a great Viennese singer. Why this video from Vienna Austria - because Vienna is home of coffee culture, with coffee shops virtually everywhere around the great city.  You must watch this video - it shows Austrian singer Wolfgang Ambros singing in his native Austrian dialect : ' somewhere in the Viennese woods I discovered an excellent wine .. '

This is based on a number of reasons. Coffee stimulates, it takes out tiredness that succumbs us, especially in later years. One feels more agile, more alert, and is able to produce better and more efficiently.

Coffee does some things other drinks don't. It also detoxifies. In Thailand pharmacies are selling enemas in plastic pouches with a solution of instant coffee as the main detoxifying substance.

Coffee has its values in being able to transport harmful toxins out of your system by capillary function of carbonized and ground coffee beans, the same action found in activated coal for example. As a result of this function, people feel better after getting rid of toxins that are produced in any human body.

Famous ' Kopie Luwak ', exotic coffee beans with a difference are harvested from Asian civets.

The coffee beans have a hefty price tag - and are considered favorite amongst coffee connoisseurs. With coffeehouses sprouting up around the globe faster than mushrooms - one needs to wait and see till STARBUCKS will enter the connoisseur race.

The secret of Kopie Luwak is described here : Civet cats eat the berries for their fleshy pulp. During digestion, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, producing shorter peptides and free amino acids.

After passing through a civet's endocrine system, the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness.

One connoisseur commented on Coffee forum

Some coffee houses charge an astonishing 100 US$ per cup of Kopie Luwak.

Discover the secret about Kopie Luwak.

We visited a couple in Pakse - Bolaven , she a Laotian - he of Dutch nationality - who are actively selling 'Kopie Luwak'.

Kopie Luwak farms have sprung up in Vietnam, Indonesia as a result of the high sales price. However, the real connoisseurs insist -

only the 'wild' variety is the ultimate taste and fetches the highest prices.

Though we did not search for civet cat 's dung ourselves, we nevertheless saw it bagged in jute sacks ( below pic).

You are welcome to ask for more info should you be interested. Our email is : aheneghana(at)gmailc(dot)com .

Hope you enjoy this. We saw an aweful lot of Kopie Luwak in bags, making us wonder.

Who would go and drink this brew thought to myself. I can live without it.

The night was spent on a boat restaurant docked in the Mekong, some fantastic scen, though the quality of food left to be desired.

One of the prime spots on site, I was expecting more from my dinner.

The staff was rather unattentive, and prices were high for Laos standards. This was not what I came here for.
